West African Portland Cement was established in 1959 with its first factory in Ewekoro, Ogun State, Nigeria. Due to that, it resumed manufacturing operations in 1960. The second factory is in Sagamu; Ogun State. Which was established in 1978. The following jobs are available as follows
Job Title 1: Shipper

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Sales Plant & Production Manager
1. Observe and follow Health & Safety Rules and Policies at all times.
2. Receive customer orders in a courteous manner, preparing production schedules and delivery schedules for the following day in line with the plant’s capacity.
3. Inform customers with regards to any potential delays or problems, ensuring the Plant Supervisor is also aware.
4. Communicate to all plant and site personnel, details of pouring, times and locations etc.
5. Complete all necessary reports & paperwork.
6. Enter correct mix design on batching computer along with Technical Supervisor.
7. Communicate with Pump Supervisor and Pump Operators with regards to site pouring schedules for following day’s production.
8. Inform the Technical department the details of the next day’s production schedule including sites, mixes etc. Maintain communication throughout the day.
9. Sign/approve all materials deliveries to plant location, ensuring that delivery drivers are wearing PPE and observing site rules, and that the goods have been fully received.
10. Ensure cash sale inquiries match Sales Department listing/costs. Ensuring cash is collected before delivery.
11. Manage stocks in line with following day’s production. Keep stocks at maximum storage capacity.

Job Title 2: Wheel Loader Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Plant & Production Supervisor
1. Observe and follow Health & Safety Rules and Policies at all times, ensuring all other persons working in and around the batching plant do the same.
2. Complete daily checklist reporting of any defects to Plant Supervisor immediately and recording such defects on the sheet. Carry out daily greasing and light maintenance on the loading shovel as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Ensure the machine is operated in a safe manner as per the manufactures instructions observing site speed limit restrictions at all times.
4. Ensure correct materials are delivered/ loaded and are kept in the correct aggregate storage bay, totally separated so as to prevent cross contamination.
5. Inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity, reporting any anomalies to Plant Supervisor immediately.
6. Ensure correct material is loaded into the correct concrete batching plant aggregate bin.
7. Manage wash pits, waste concrete bays and water system.

Job Title 3: Driver – Concrete Truck Mixer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Plant & Production Supervisor
1. Observe and follow Health & Safety Rules and Policies at all times, ensuring all other persons working in and around the batching plant do the same.
2. Carry out daily checks and recording in the vehicle maintenance log sheet whilst maintaining the truck in a clean and serviceable condition.
3. Deliver concrete as promptly as possible whilst observing all local traffic safety rules and regulations. Observe local site rules following the customer’s instructions in a safe and courteous manner.
4. Complete each individual Delivery Note including time of arrival, departure and note any water added or concrete not being used by the customer.
5. Upon return to plant hand in the signed delivery ticket and inform shipping clerk of any returned concrete, site issues, accidents or near misses.
