PRODUCT ANALYSTS AND ENGINEERS

The core services offered by SGS can be divided into three categories:
  • Inspection Services SGS inspects and verifies the quantity, weight and quality of traded goods. Inspection typically takes place at the manufacturer’s/supplier’s premises or at time of loading or at destination during discharge/off-loading.
  • Testing Services SGS tests product quality and performance against various health, safety and regulatory standards. SGS operates state of the art laboratories on or close to customers' premises.
  • Certification Services SGS certifies that products, systems or services meet the requirements of standards set by governments (e.g. GOST R), standardization bodies (e.g.ISO 9000) or by SGS customers. SGS also develops and certifies its own standards.

SGS  Inspection Services has operated in Nigeria since 1957 and boasts with 50% shareholding in the hands of Nigeria Institutions and Individuals The executive management team consists of the same percentage , whilst 98% of its employee are Nigerian Nationals. SGS operates through a number of core divisions, Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Industrial, Government and Institution, System and Service Certifications ,Agriculture and Solid Minerals, employing a staff and contractor base of over 500.The company is a trusted partner in inspection, testing, verification and certification in Nigeria.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform technical and analytical processing of the reports based on
business rules and process on product classification, valuation, import
eligibility and risk management
Check the completeness and validity of information in the documents and
ensure correct report issuance based on technical knowledge and expertise
Work with the team to ensure it is align with productivity, quality and
timeliness targets in the operations team.
Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) work processes and procedures,
company’s policies and SGS Code of integrity and Professional Conduct.

REPORTING: Operations Manager and Team Supervisor.
PROFILE: with university degree level or have completed an equivalent
course background related to the job or function with the following
field of expertise and job experience in:
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Industrial and Instrumentation Engineering
Materials Science & Metallurgical Engineering
Chemical Engineering.
Trade experience in import and export procedures, banking and finance,
or customs brokerage procedures with foreign language skill, an advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Additional language an advantage
Computer literate (familiar with MS Window applications) and other
software applications
Details and result-oriented.
Can work on weekends and on rotation shift basis
Acts quickly and decisively and works well under pressure
Experience of managing and leading tea, an advantage.
