Stanbic IBTC Bank: Suite Manager
The Standard Bank Group merged its Nigerian operations, Stanbic Bank Nigeria with that of IBTC Chartered Bank PLC. The merger, by way of the first ever tender offer in Nigeria and a $525 million FDI, the largest in Nigerian financial history, gave birth to a new entity now known as Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC which became part of the Standard Bank Group. The merger was officiated in August of this year and legalised on the 24th of September 2007.Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC through its wholly owned stock broking and asset management subsidiary, IBTC Asset Management Limited has several excellent mutual funds including the IBTC Nigerian Equity Fund, which is Nigeria’s largest mutual fund with a net asset value in excess of N25 billion (as at December 2007). It is the only bank that has a direct subsidiary that is a pension fund administrator; through the market leading IBTC Pension Managers Limited (IPML).

Job Purpose

The Suite Manager must ensure that the department successfully provides an exclusive service to wealthy individuals, their families and mid-sized businesses utilising the extensive range of banking, wealth and fiduciary products within the group.
Responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the Suite through team of Relationship Managers and Transactional Bankers.

Sales Management
Identify and develop significant new relationships through correspondence, personal contacts and networking with a view to identify and address their financial goals and concerns.
Introduce clients to the various banking and investment products and services available within the Group and recommend the appropriate mix that matches the clients’ expectation and risk profile.
Ensure that suite targets are met and exceeded.
Prepare weekly suite sales report and annual suite budget.
Credit and risk management
• Ensure that all clients’ Account Opening Documentation conforms with KYC policies
• Work within the existing audit, compliance, and regulatory framework in order to ensure a high quality, compliant portfolio of client relationships.
• Understanding and control of lending processes
People management
Ensuring the suite is properly and adequately resourced to meet business and operational demands
To develop a proactive, skilled and result-oriented private and business banking team.
Provide an environment that attracts and develops the right calibre of staff ensuring that the suite becomes an employer of choice for external, as well as internal candidates.
Supervision of Work – Includes work distribution, scheduling, training, answering of questions related to work, assisting in solving problems.
Managing staff to ensure that targets, work and quality standards are set, achieved and maintained.
